Kozhi Varutharachathu (Chicken Curry)


INGREDIENTS

1.Chicken-500gms
2.Small onion-1/2 cup chopped
3.Ginger-1 small piece
4. Garlic-8 flakes
5.Coriander seeds-1/2 cup
6.Red chilly-10
7.Pepper-1tbsp
8.Fennel (perum jeerakam)1tbsp
9.Small onion-1/2 cup chopped
10.Garlic-1tbsp
11.Mustard-1 tbsp
12.Red chilly-2
13.Salt to taste
14.Curry leaves
15.White vinegar- 1/4 cup

METHOD

Heat a pan and dry roast the items 5-8 and keep aside. Fry the items 2,3,&4 in little oil till they become brown and grind the roasted and fried items with vinegar and little water into a fine paste. Marinate the chicken  pieces with the paste and keep it for ½ hr.Cook the chicken adding salt. Season with mustard,Small onion,Garlic, red chilly and curry leaves.
