Puttu ( Steam cake)


Ingredients
1.Roasted rice flour-2 cup
2.Grated coconut-2 cup
3.Jeera – 1tsp
4.Salt –to taste
5. Ghee-2 tsp (optional)
6.Water as required

Method

Mix salt, jeera and 1 cup grated coconut, with rice flour and sprinkle water (just to wet   the flour) and keep aside to soak for 1/2hr. For making puttu, you need a puttu maker (puttu _kutti). Fill the puttu _kutti with rice flour adding a tablespoon of grated coconut in the beginning, middle and in the end.  Cover the puttu_kutti with  lid and steam for 5-10 min. Serve hot with kadala curry.
