RAVA KOZHUKATTA
Ingredients
Rava /sooji -1 cup, Green chilly (finely
chopped) - 2, Ginger finely chopped – 1 tsp, Jeera-1 tsp, Asafoetida – ¼ tsp, Water-2 cups, Salt as needed.
For seasoning
Oil-2 tbsp, Mustard seeds-1 tsp, channa
dal-1 tsp, Urad dal-1 tsp, Red chilly -2, curry leaves-a few, Sambar
powder/dosa podi -1tbsp
Method
1.
Heat oil in a
kadai/pan, add jeera, sauté for a min, add green chilly, ginger, asafoetida and
salt, again sauté well, then add sooji, sauté for 4-5 min, add
boiling water, mix well and keep mixing till it form into a mass.

Transfer the mixed mass to a bowl, knead the warm cooked sooji well and shape it into small
balls.
3.
Place the sooji
balls in a steam pot and steam it for 10-15 mins.
4.
Heat oil in another
pan, add the seasonings, sauté for a few min then add curry leaves and sambar
powder/dosa podi, sauté again.
5.
Finally add the
cooked rava balls /kozhukatta and mix well with the seasoning.
6.
Serve this with
chutney.
