COUNTRY PEPPER CHICKEN
Ingredients
- Chicken pieces (preferably boneless) -1kg
- Onion - 4 (chopped)
- Garlic - 6-8 (crushed)
- Green chilly -2chopped
- Curry leaves - a handful
- Black pepper- ¼ cup (can reduce to your choice)
- Fennel seeds/ Perumjeerakam -3 tbsp
- Salt as needed
- Oil - 3tbsp
- Corn flour -1tbsp
Method
- Dry roast black pepper and fennel seeds, powder it and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add curry leaves and crushed garlic, sauté until garlic turns into light brown.
- Add chopped onion and green chilly, sauté for 5-8mins.
- Add cleaned and washed chicken pieces, salt, pepper and fennel powders (no need to add water).
- Cook in medium heat till the chicken pieces become soft and tender.
- Finally mix the corn flour in 1/4 cup water and add to the chicken and cook till the gravy thickens.If you want dry pepper chicken, avoid corn flour.
- Country pepper chicken is ready to serve with ghee rice or Roti
