RAW MANGO RASAM



Ingredients

1.      Raw mango -1
2.      Water- 3 cups
3.      Green chilly -3-4
4.      Ginger -1 small piece
5.      Garlic -8
6.      Turmeric powder -1tsp
7.      Rasam powder -1tbsp
8.      Jaggery -2tbsp

For seasoning

1.      Shallots -4 finely chopped
2.      Dry red chilly -2 broken
3.      Mustard -2tsp
4.      Jeera -1tsp
5.      Ajwain - ½ tsp (optional)
6.      Asafoetida – ½ tsp
7.      Curry leaves -a few


Method

1.   Wash the mango, cut the stem and cook the entire raw mango (use sour mango) in water along with one cup of water till soft and tender. When the mango has cooled, squeeze the pulp and remove the seed and peels. Mash it slightly.

2.      Add 3cups of water and crushed green chilly, ginger, garlic, salt, turmeric powder and rasam powder.

3.      Add few curry leaves and bring to boil in medium heat for 10mins.

4.      Heat oil and add the seasoning one by one, let fry, pour the seasoning to the Rasam.

5.      Enjoy with hot rice and pickle.
