NENTHRA PAZHAM (KERALA BANANA) RAVA APPAM




Ingredients

Rava (semolina) – 1 ½  cup (300g), Jaggery - 250g, thick Coconut milk – ¼ cup (60g), Nenthra pazham -3, Ghee – ¼  cup (50g) Cardamom powder- 1tsp (5g), a pinch of Salt



Method

1.Cook the banana by steaming and grind it to a fine paste by adding Jaggery. 

2.Roast the rava in little ghee. After cooling, add the banana paste, coconut milk, cardamom powder with a pinch of salt (optional) and mix well (it should be idili consistency).  You can add more coconut milk, if needed. 

3.Apply some ghee in a wide bowl, pour this mixture, decorate with some banana pieces on the top and steam in steamer till it is done (check with a fork, if it comes out clean appam is done). 

4.Allow it to cool, cut into small pieces and serve.
