FISH CUTLET





Ingredients

1.  Fish - 250 gms
2.  Potato -1 big boiled
3.  Onion -2 finely chopped
4.  Green chilly -4 chopped
5.  Ginger -1 inch chopped
6.  Fennel seeds -1tsp
7.  Chat masala -1 tsp
8. Turmeric powder -1tsp
9.  Coriander powder -1tsp
10. Coriander leaves -1 bunch
11. Lemon juice -1 tbsp
12. Salt
13. Eggs  -2
14. Bread crumbs -2cups
15. Oil

 Method

1.Clean the fish pieces (preferably seer fish or any other fleshy fish), add salt and turmeric powder, cook it in a pressure cooker adding little water (keep the fish separately in a bowl) in high flame till 3 whistles.  After cooling remove the bones and keep aside. 

2.Sauté items 3-9 in a pan adding little oil, allow cooling, then adding this to the fish and also adding mashed potatoes, lemon juice, salt and coriander leaves. Mix well all the ingredients.

3.Pinch lemon sized ball of the fish filling; flatten gently with your hands to cutlet shape or oval shape. Beat the egg and dip each cutlet in, then roll gently in bread crumbs. Do the process again to get thick coating, transfer the cutlets to a large tray and keep it for 10-15 mts. 

4.Heat oil in a frying pan, when it is hot, drop the cutlets one by one.  Reduce the flame to medium, fry it till golden brown on all sides, and remove to paper towel to drain the excess oil. Increase the flame before dropping the next batch, repeat till all the cutlets are done. 

5.Serve hot with tomato sauce.
