NENTHRA PAZHAM (KERALA BANANA) KAALAN
Ingredients
1. Nenthra pazham -1
big diced
2. Red chilly pdr – ½ tsp
3. Turmeric pdr – ¼ tsp
4. Red chilly pdr – ½ tsp
5. Curry leaves - 1 stem
6. Salt
7. Grated coconut – ½ cup
8. Jeera – ¼ tsp
9. Green chilly - 4
10. Curd (set) -1 cup
11. Mustard – ½ tsp
12. Fenugreek seeds – ¼ tsp
13. Red chilly - 2 broken into2 piece
14. Ghee -2 tbsp
15. Curry leaves - 1 stem
Method
1.Cook the banana along with
items 2-6 till the banana become soft.
2.Grind the coconut with jeera and green chilly to a very fine paste and add to the cooked banana. To this add beaten curd, mix well and turn off the stove.
3.Heat ghee in a pan add items 11-13, after spluttering pour this seasoning over the kaalan. Cover it with a lid and serve after ½ hr.
