THAKKALI (TOMATO) KAALAN




Ingredients

Tomatoes -3, Green chilly -4, Grated coconut -1/2 cup /50 gms, Curd-2 cup/500gm, Red chilly pdr-1 tsp, Jeera-1 tsp / 5 gms,Turmeric pdr-1tsp, Curry leaves 2 stems, Coconut oil-2 tbsp/30 ml, Mustardseeds-1 tsp/5 gms, Dry red chilly -2 broken into pieces, Fenugreek pdr-1/4 tsp, Salt as needed.


Method

1.Grind the coconut along with turmeric pdr, jeera and one green chilly to a fine paste.

2.Cook the chopped tomatoes with 3 chopped green chilly, red chilly pdr and with little water.

3.Add the ground coconut paste; beaten curd and salt bring to boil in low flame for 5 mts.

4.Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds let it splutter, add red chilly and fenugreek pdr and curry leaves add the tempering to the curry mix well .Serve hot with rice.
