CHICKEN CURRY MASALA

 


Ingredients

  1. Chicken – 500gms
  2. Potatoes – 2 chopped into cubes
  3. Onion – 4 
  4. Tomatoes – 4
  5. Ginger Garlic paste – 2tbsp
  6. Ginger -1 inch piece
  7. Curd – ¼ cup
  8. Chilly powder – 2 tbsp
  9. Coriander powder – 2 tbsp
  10. Chicken masala – 1 tbsp
  11. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  12. Garam masala – 1tsp
  13. Fennel – 2 tsp
  14. Mustard -1tsp
  15. Dry red chilly – 2 broken
  16. Jeera – 1tsp
  17. Curry leaves – 4 strings
  18. Boiling water – 1 cup
  19. Salt as needed
  20.  Oil / ghee – 3 tsp

Method

  1. Cut chicken into small pieces and wash well. Chop onion and tomatoes into fine pieces.
  2. Heat oil / ghee and roast mustard, jeera, fennel and chilly and curry leaves, add onions and fry till golden brown.
  3. To the above add ginger – garlic paste, sauté, add chilly, coriander, chicken masala and turmeric powders, sauté well, add tomatoes and curd and fry until oil separates from masala.
  4. Then add chicken pieces, potatoes and salt and fry till the chicken is slightly brown. Add 1 cup boiling water to it, cover and cook in medium heat till the potatoes and chicken become soft and tender.
  5. Garnish with curry leaves and garam masala; serve hot with rice /roti.
