CHICKEN CURRY MASALA
Ingredients
- Chicken – 500gms
- Potatoes – 2 chopped into cubes
- Onion – 4
- Tomatoes – 4
- Ginger Garlic paste – 2tbsp
- Ginger -1 inch piece
- Curd – ¼ cup
- Chilly powder – 2 tbsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tbsp
- Chicken masala – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala – 1tsp
- Fennel – 2 tsp
- Mustard -1tsp
- Dry red chilly – 2 broken
- Jeera – 1tsp
- Curry leaves – 4 strings
- Boiling water – 1 cup
- Salt as needed
- Oil / ghee – 3 tsp
Method
- Cut chicken into small pieces and wash well. Chop onion and tomatoes into fine pieces.
- Heat oil / ghee and roast mustard, jeera, fennel and chilly and curry leaves, add onions and fry till golden brown.
- To the above add ginger – garlic paste, sauté, add chilly, coriander, chicken masala and turmeric powders, sauté well, add tomatoes and curd and fry until oil separates from masala.
- Then add chicken pieces, potatoes and salt and fry till the chicken is slightly brown. Add 1 cup boiling water to it, cover and cook in medium heat till the potatoes and chicken become soft and tender.
- Garnish with curry leaves and garam masala; serve hot with rice /roti.
