ULLI KICHADI

 



Ingredients

  1. Shallots – 100gms
  2. Shredded coconut – 1cup
  3. Green chilly – 5
  4. Jeera – ½ tsp
  5. Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  6. Fresh curd – 1 cup
  7. Salt as needed

For seasoning

  1. Curry leaves – 2 strings
  2. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  3. Fenugreek – ½ tsp
  4. Dry red chilly – 2 broken
  5. Oil – 2 tbsp

Method

  1. Grind coconut, green chilly, jeera, together in a mixer with ¼ cup curd to a smooth paste. Thereafter add mustard to the ground paste and give a pulse or two. Then add the remaining curd (mildly beat the curd before adding) and salt (as needed) to it, mix well, cook in low flame for 2-3 mins and remove from heat.
  2. Heat oil, add the seasoning and roast it, then add chopped shallots, sauté well until it turn light brown. Finally add to the ground coconut –curd paste and mix well.
  3. Enjoy the simple kichadi with rice.
