DAL CURRY
Ingredients
- Tuvar dal – ½ cup/100gm
- Tomato – 2 chopped
- Green chilly - 4
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Salt as needed
- Shredded coconut – ½ cup/50 gms
- Jeera – ½ tsp
- Shallots – 4
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Chilly powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder -1/2 tsp
For
seasoning
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 2 tsp
- Dry red chilly- 2 broken
- Jeera - ½ tsp
- Curry leaves - 2 strings
Method
- Wash and cook the dal, chopped tomato, green chilly and salt in a cooker with enough water.
- Grind coconut, shallots, garlic, jeera, chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric together to a smooth paste
- Add the ground paste to the cooked dal along with enough water; boiling in medium flame for 5 mins.
- Heat oil and fry the seasonings pour this to the dal curry and turn off the flame.
- SERVE HOT WITH ROTI /RICE.
