DAL CURRY

 


Ingredients

  1. Tuvar dal – ½ cup/100gm
  2. Tomato – 2 chopped
  3. Green chilly - 4
  4. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  5. Salt as needed
  6. Shredded coconut – ½ cup/50 gms
  7. Jeera – ½ tsp
  8. Shallots – 4
  9. Garlic – 2 cloves
  10. Chilly powder – 1 tsp
  11. Coriander powder -1/2 tsp

For seasoning

  1. Oil – 2 tbsp
  2. Mustard seeds – 2 tsp
  3. Dry red chilly- 2 broken
  4. Jeera - ½ tsp
  5. Curry leaves - 2 strings

Method

  1. Wash and cook the dal, chopped tomato, green chilly and salt in a cooker with enough water.
  2. Grind coconut, shallots, garlic, jeera, chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric together to a smooth paste
  3. Add the ground paste to the cooked dal along with enough water; boiling in medium flame for 5 mins.
  4. Heat oil and fry the seasonings pour this to the dal curry and turn off the flame.
  5. SERVE HOT WITH ROTI /RICE.
