KOZHUKKATTA WITH CHUTNEY
Kozhukkatta
Ingredients
- Rice flour (roasted) –
1 cup
- Water – 2 cup
- Oil – 2 tsp
- Salt as needed
Method
- Boil 2 cups of water with salt,
when it starts boiling add the rice flour little by little, mix well, turn off
the flame and keep aside.
- Apply some oil in your palm and
knead the warm rice mixture to smooth dough without any lumps.
- Make small marble sized
balls out of the dough, place the dumplings in a steamer and steam for 15-20
mins till it is cooked and transfer it to a bowl and keep aside.
Red coconut chutney
Ingredients
- Shredded coconut – 1
cup
- Red chilly – 5
- Shallots -4
- Ginger – 1 small piece
- Salt
- Water – ½ cup
- For seasoning
- Mustard – 2 tsp
- Red chilly – 2
- Urad dal – 2 tsp
- Curry leaves- 1 spring
Method
- In a mixer
grind together all the ingredients to a fine paste adding ½ cup water and
enough salt.
- Heat oil in a
pan add mustard seeds let it crackle then add urad dal, roast until golden
brown then add red chilly, curry leaves, sauté well and add the tempering to chutney.
- Add the steamed dumplings to the chutney and
mix well.
- SERVE HOT AS
