KAPPA PUTTU

 



Ingredients

1.      Kappa /Tapioca grated – 2 cups

2.      Onion – 1 finely chopped

3.      Ginger – 1 small piece chopped

4.      Green chilly – 2 nos chopped

5.      Curry leaves few

6.      Rice flour – 1 cup

7.      Wheat rava -1/4 cup

8.      Salt as needed

9.      Jeera – 1tsp

10.  Ghee – 2 tbsp

11.  Grated coconut – 2 cups

Method

1.      Wash, peel the skin and grate the kappa and keep aside in water for 10 mins.

2.      Strain and squeeze out water completely from kappa; repeat it 2 times.

3.      Mix all the ingredients together (add only 1 cup grated coconut) thoroughly and allow to set it for 5 mins.

4.      Keep water for boiling in a puttu kudam/pot.

5.      Now add a spoonful of grated coconut in the puttu maker and then add 2 handful of kappa mix till half, then add another handful of coconut, repeat till you reach the top.

6.      Close the lid and steam for 10-15 mins until the steam passes from the top.

7.      Serve hot with any curry of your choice…ENJOY!
