GINGER WINE
Ingredients
- Ginger – 1 ½ cups /75 gms
- Sugar – ½ kg/500gms
- Black or white raisins -2 tbsp
- Yeast – ¾ tsp
- Water – 1.5 liters
- Cloves – 10 nos
Method
- Crush the ginger and boil in ½ liter water and boil1 liter water in another pan, mix both and let it cool.
- Add yeast, chopped black raisins (or white raisins), sugar and cloves to above cooled water. Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
- Transfer it to an air tight glass jar; thereafter stir daily with a wooden spoon. After 21 days, sieve through a strainer to an air tight bottle and keep it untouched for 2-3 days.
- Now your wine is ready to be served.
- Use sultanas if you want reddish wine and for clear wine use raisins.
- The longer you leave the wine after making it, better will be its taste.
