GINGER WINE

 


Ingredients

  1. Ginger – 1 ½ cups /75 gms
  2. Sugar – ½ kg/500gms
  3. Black or white raisins -2 tbsp
  4. Yeast – ¾ tsp
  5. Water – 1.5 liters
  6. Cloves – 10 nos

Method

  1. Crush the ginger and boil in ½ liter water and boil1 liter water in another pan, mix both and let it cool.
  2. Add yeast, chopped black raisins (or white raisins), sugar and cloves to above cooled water. Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Transfer it to an air tight glass jar; thereafter stir daily with a wooden spoon. After 21 days, sieve through a strainer to an air tight bottle and keep it untouched for 2-3 days.
  4. Now your wine is ready to be served.
  5. Use sultanas if you want reddish wine and for clear wine use raisins.
  6. The longer you leave the wine after making it, better will be its taste.
