BROWN ONION CHICKEN CURRY
Ingredients
Chicken pieces –1kg , Onion-6, Garlic-10
, Ginger -1 small piece, Green chilly (chopped) -4,Tomato-4, Curry leaves-3 stems,
Coriander pdr-2 tbsp, Kashmiri chilly pdr-2 tbsp, Pepper pdr -1 tsp, Turmeric
pdr-1 tsp, Salt as needed, Coconut oil.
Method
1.
Slice
the onions very finely and keep aside.
2.
Heat oil and deep fry half the chopped the
onion until brown. When it is cooled grind to a fine paste and keep aside.
3.
Dry
roast the powders in a pan and soak in little water for 10 mts.
4.
Heat
oil and add the finely chopped green chilly, ginger and garlic, sauté
well.
5. To the above add rest of the finely chopped onion and sauté again until it turns into slight brown.
6.
Then add the soaked powders, sauté, add chopped tomato, sauté till it turn
into pulp.
7.
Finally add the ground paste, some water and chicken pieces.
8.
Cook
in medium flame covering with a lid till the chicken is cooked and the gravy
become thick.
