PANEER KOFTA CURRY

 


Ingredients

For koftha

1.     Grated paneer -200gms

2.     Bread slices- 2 dip in water and squeeze

3.     Maida (all-purpose flour)- 2 tbsp

4.     Onion finely chopped ½ cup

5.     Ginger – 1 tsp chopped

6.     Green chilly -1 chopped

7.     Coriander leaves -2tbsp chopped

8.     Salt

9.     Garam masala – 1 tsp

10.  Oil for frying

11.  Corn flour -3 tbsp

Grind together (for masala)

1.     Corinander powder -1 tsp

2.     Jeera - ½ tsp

3.     Garlic – 4 nos

4.     Ginger – ½ inch piece

5.     Water for grinding (little).

For gravy

1.     Oil – 2 tbsp

2.     Onion -  finely chopped

3.     Salt

4.     Chilly powder - 2 tbsp

5.     Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

6.     Tomato puree- 2 cups

7.     Water -1cup

8.     Fresh cream beaten – ½ cup

Method

·      Mix the grated paneer with soaked &squeezed bread, maida, chopped onion, ginger, green chilly, coriander leaves, garam masala  and salt (can add some oil if needed) and make small balls roll them in cornflour for extra crisp covering.

·       Deep fry the paneer balls in oil till golden brown and keep aside.

·       Grind together coriander, jeera, garlic and ginger and keep aside.

·       Heat oil, sauté onion until golden brown, then add the above ground masala, sauté, add chilly, turmeric powders and salt, sauté well.

·       Then add water and tomato puree, bring to boil in medium flame.

·       Just before serving add the fried-paneer balls and decorate with fresh cream.
